The Accounting Club of Kean University will be holding their annual symposium: “Bridging the Gap: Students to Professionals” on Saturday, November 21, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Miron Student Center (MSC) room 228.

This event serves to educate the student body on what it means to be “professional” and what to expect after graduation. This year’s speakers will mostly focus on firms that handle audits, taxes, and advisories along with organizations dealing with Certified Professional Accountants (CPA). Firms such as KPMG, WithumSmith + Brown, Becker, and NJCPA will be presenting and exhibiting throughout the day and teaching students the ins and outs of the accounting world.

This workshop is specialized towards those who are interesting in accounting or financial careers. Students interested must RSVP via Cougar Link and adhere to a business professional dress code (absolutely no t-shirts and no jeans.) The Accounting Club is looking forward to another successful symposium.

“After last year's symposium, the feedback we received was that the students felt inspired, and learned new things about the accounting profession that they did not already know.  We hope to make the same impact again this year, as we are bringing in some of the top professionals in the accounting industry,” said Therese Jose, Accounting Club’s Director of Public Relations.
