The Physical Therapy Club will construct an inflatable obstacle course on The Miron Student Center lawn on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Not only will this activity allow students to have fun and engage in physical activity, but members of the club themselves will be providing information about the human body and muscle function as well.
“Our main goal is to raise awareness of fitness health, and to provide general knowledge of the human anatomy,” said Kayla Bendul, Physical Therapy Club President and senior psychology major.
To incorporate education into this event, the members of the Physical Therapy Club will be identifying the muscles being used in each course. They believe that many people take for granted their ability to do the simplest of actions and are not aware of the musculoskeletal system. As future physical therapists, they want everyone to know the wonders of the ability of the human body. The key to life is to remain active and develop a deeper understanding of those who are not as fortunate.
“It is extremely important for students to learn about their bodies to maintain a healthy lifestyle,” started Bendul. “It is our job as future physical therapists to promote the importance of physical well-being, and to spark an interest in a topic that we are passionate about.”
