Purses filled with essentials about to be distributed to those in need

Caleb Lopez, Senior Editor

On Thursday, Oct. 12 from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m., the Rotaract Club is overseeing Purses for Progress. This event is centered around gathering purses filled with necessary female hygiene products for homeless women in the community. This event is sponsored by Residential Student Services.

Purses for Progress is an event that the Rotaract Club has done in the past. It is an amazing event that reaches out to homeless women who are in dire need of female hygiene products.

In the past spring semester, the event focused on gathering the female hygiene products. The Rotaract Club accepted the product and purse donations. However, this upcoming event is centered around filling up purses with products that will already be provided. Thus, they need volunteers to aid in filling up purses.

Students should visit Center for Academic Success room 234 to participate in Purses for Progress. Products and purses will be provided, so students should simply bring a positive and helpful attitude.

All in all, an hour of filling up purses with essentials could potentially touch the lives of many who are in desperate need. Students should be thrilled to play an instrumental role in the lives of these homeless women.
