School of Management & Marketing will be hosting an information session for the 2018 Business Plan Competition Feb. 1, in Hennings Hall Room 113 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

The Business Plan Competition is open to all Kean students of any major as well as other universities and high school programs. Students should register before the deadline on Feb. 17.

The information session for the competition will discuss what a business plan is and how to write one as well as how to participate and how to get ideas. The program is offered to help the students who are interested in entering the competition and answer any questions they may have. 

The competition allows students to compete as individuals or in teams with a maximum of three members per team. Finalists will be announced March 29, 2018 and they will be invited to present their business plans to a panel of judges from the business industry and the Kean community. There are $10,000 in combined prizes for the winners. 

The competition comes from the School of Management & Marketing and students can register through this link www.kean.edu/bizplan, and the executive summary is to be emailed to bizplan@kean.edu.

Registration for the competition began Dec. 10, 2017 and the last day to submit executive summaries and register is Feb. 17, 2018. The semi-finalists will be notified March 2, 2018. The deadline for the full business plan is March 19, 2018 and finalists will be notified March 29, 2018 with April 12, 2018 being the final event.

He is a part of the Leadership Institute as a Gold leader and has worked as a New Student Orientation Leader. In his free time, he is a performer for a world class independent competitive color guard team and coaches the Union High School Color Guard.
