Kean "community" -- this is most commonly used term to include Kean students, staff, and faculty, in some generalized thought. Seldom is it used to speak to sense of community built upon its action to unify or strengthen. The return of the longstanding Psi Sigma Phi Charity Ball, held on November 15, 2011, was an event that fostered such a community.

Three Kean organizations -- the university's chapters of Psi Sigma Phi Multicultural Fraternity, Inc. and Delta Phi Epsilon Fraternity, and humanitarian group "Be the Change" -- united efforts to serve a member of the Kean community -- YaniqueFolkesFolkes

For the last decade, the Charity Ball has been running strong; and since its beginning, been an event held in strives of a specific humanitarian mission. The mission to rebuild Folkes'sFolkes

To honor the Folkes'

The Charity Ball's attendance total was one of the largest given by any student organization this semester -- a testament to the strength of the Kean community.
