On Friday, September 12, 2014, the University Center operations and event management will be hosting the annual event “Kean Day”, which will be held at the University Center plaza from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Beginning in 1982, “Kean Day” is a campus–wide festival “designed to introduce the incoming freshmen class [upper class students are able to participate also] to the services, departments and student groups that are on campus and available to them,” says Kerrin Lyles, who works for the University Center administration. Outside vendors will also be part of the festival, which will include 7-11 and Jersey Lanes. “This gives the students an opportunity to see which vendors support Kean University students by giving discounts or coupons to frequent their establishments,” continues Lyles. With this festival, new students will be able to sign up for the different student clubs available to them, like different sororities and fraternities.

All Transition to Kean (T2K) students are required to attend “Kean Day” as part of their T2K course, and must complete the “Kean Day” activity. Students must check–in at the registration table by the Clock Tower in the center of campus.
