Join the center for leadership and service [CLS] as they host the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. The walk will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2014 in Edison, New Jersey. Susan Figueroa, managing assistant director for community service and civic engagement in the center for leadership and services [CLS] office states that, “The CLS [office] is always excited to provide students with opportunities to serve…We aim for a large impact full of presence in Edison, New Jersey this year…We will bring all the enthusiasm and support we usually rally to Newark and transport it to Edison, New Jersey.”

Breast cancer has affected the lives of many. “This disease has targeted so many people we love that it binds us all in a common experience of hope and sometimes tragedy.  The Kean Community continues to want to make a difference fighting cancer any way it can,” explained Figueroa.

Transportation to and from the walk will be provided by the university. The bus will depart from the Vaughn Eames parking lot at 8:00 a.m. and will return to the campus approximately around 1:00 p.m. Breakfast will be provided for all students that register.

The CLS will also be selling “Kean Thinks Pink” breast cancer awareness t-shirts and hoodies throughout late September and October. The proceeds of the clothing will go directly to the American Cancer Society.

“We encourage all students and staff to contribute to the success of the Breast Cancer walk by registering on cougar link to participate in the walk…We hope this year will be our biggest turn out! We hope to see students come out in droves!” Figueroa enthused.
