Nigel Donald begins to put his dreams into action

From Vice President To Future President

The one person that countless students may never forget is Nigel Donald. Many students know Donald as the Vice President of the Student Organization, or as a person who likes to speak the mind of the others that cannot be heard. But too numerous others, especially those that he is closest to, they know him as more than his position in Student Organization. Those people know Donald as someone who is more than just a caring person, someone who wants to make a difference in another’s life.

Donald is majoring in economics, minoring in political science, and is anticipating graduating in the spring of 2016. Donald announces that he joined Student Organization three years ago “to make a change, when I see something wrong,” he adds, “not only around campus, but in life, I have the ability to ignore this hazard or take proper actions to assure that whatever may affect me doesn’t affect others.” Students may see Donald attend several meetings in hope to voice the concerns of the student body, as well as on social media as he tries his best to receive any student’s opinion about conflicting topics on campus. “I would love for every student to know that I'm always here. Despite if I'm a part of student government or not, my interest has always been representing the voice of the people.” He voices the fact that he may not know every concern that students have “but I've always worked with the intent that the very issues that affect others will soon spread to me and countless others.”

Despite having a busy life here on campus, Donald still makes time to do other activities. In explanation, Donald communicates that his “hobbies are mainly collecting model aircrafts and learning about the history of commercial air travel.”  Not only that, “but currently I am self-teaching myself two different languages, Russian and Chinese,” something many people do not have the patience to do. Donald also spends his downtime by “bonding and hanging out with [his] closest friends.” To numerous of his closest friends and co-workers he is known as a “walking encyclopedia for knowing and retaining a lot of knowledge on various other topics.”

Being known as a “walking encyclopedia,” is a great quality of Donald as he says, “at the end of my college life, I plan to take with me the ability to represent others properly and efficiently. My political ambitions don't stop at Student Organization. After college I have every full ambition to continue my political ambitions on the local, state and federal levels inspiring to one day become the President of the United States.”

An inspiration that may one day come true, President Donald has a lovely ring. Sadly enough, Donald will be leaving not only Kean University, but Student Organization as well. Donald will miss various aspects of being a part of this great opportunity. “My favorite part of Student Organization is the people themselves. The people from day one will always have your back and be here to assist you in whichever thing [they] can assist you with,” explains Donald, “no matter if you are at your lowest point trying to be who you are again or at your highest aspiring to be greater, the people in Student Organization have your back.”

Although Donald will not be stepping off this campus until next year, before he does he has few words to say. As Vice President of the Student Organization, “don’t be afraid to confront me on the Cougar Walk, in the parking lot, eating in our dining facilities or anywhere to express your concerns to me,” he exclaims, “and I [as well as others part of the Student Organization] will work to resolve the problem as best as possible.”
