This past Wednesday, Oct. 23, Kean's Leadership Institute held an event called Chapter After: Internship 101 in the Miron Student Center. This event was intended for Kean students of all grade levels and majors interested in learning about internships.

When preparing for the next step after graduating college, students can feel lost in the pressure of getting internships, fixing their resumes and managing their money. The Leadership Institute is presenting their Chapter After Workshops to help students prepare for post-college success. The Chapter After Workshops are a series of lectures that will work with students to instill skills needed for applying for future careers.

Becoming a well rounded individual is a major key throughout a student's time here at Kean. Tracking community service hours and all of the organizations a student is currently a part of can be very important when applying for graduate schools as well as positions both on and off campus. The Co-Curricular Transcript (CCT) is an official record of students' involvement at Kean University and helps keep track of all the organizations they were or are currently a part of as well as any academic awards that were granted.

This past Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2019, the Center for International Studies hosted a financial workshop for students interested in studying abroad. The workshop held in the Center of Academic Success (CAS), Room 205 and was filled with a group of students eager to learn about how they could pursue their education in different countries.

The fast-paced life of a college student allows for little room to actively search for scholarship opportunities and other means of financial aid. There are usually hundreds of scholarship resources to sift through, which can take hours of searching, sorting, and applying. However, Kean makes this tedious process simple. From Oct. 1, 2019, through March 1, 2020, Kean students are given access to the Kean University Foundation Scholarship Application.

Hunger and Homelessness Awareness week is an annual event that takes place in November. It is typically the week before Thanksgiving and this year it falls on the week of Saturday, Nov. 16 and will end Sunday, Nov. 24. Kean University's Center for Leadership and Service (CLS) will be hosting the week's events this year.

One of the best times to celebrate being a Kean Cougar is during Homecoming, where students, staff, faculty, alumni and families gather together to cheer on the Kean football team. To get the community excited for the day of Homecoming, many events are planned leading up to the actual Homecoming event. This year, there will be a Homecoming Roller Skate Party to kick off the weekend of fun-filled festivities.

This past Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019, the Kean University Yoga Teacher Training Certification Program held its monthly yoga session. Because of inclement weather, instead of transpiring on the grass of the Nancy Thompson Learning Commons as planned, the session took place in the Nancy Thompson Learning Commons (NTLC), Room 116 and lasted 45 minutes.

Students, faculty, alumni and staff alongside their families filled the parking lots of Harwood Arena and Kean Hall, expressing their Kean Pride through the enjoyment of family-friendly activities and cheering on the Kean Cougars Football team as they played Salisbury University.

For students of Kean University, there is no better place to celebrate October festivities than at Liberty Hall. The Liberty Hall Museum and Academic Center has a full lineup of autumn and Halloween inspired events for the local and Kean community to be immersed in the season and surrounded by history.

International Pronouns Day is a day to learn more about pronouns and how to respect others, their gender identity and the pronouns they choose to go by. This year on Wednesday Oct. 16, Kean University held it's 2nd Annual Pronouns Day event in the North Avenue Academic Building (NAAB) from 11:00 a.m to 1:45 p.m.
