Pitman, N.J. (10/15/07) - Freshman Chris Lauda (Staten Island, N.Y.) was selected as the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Defensive Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday, October 15th.He earns NJAC Defensive Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season after collecting nine tackles in Kean's 27-12 NJAC road loss to rival Montclair State.

Lauda notched five solo stops and garnered an interception that he returned 80 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter to put the Cougars within one score of the Montclair lead.

In six games played for Kean on the season, Lauda has recorded 22 tackles, two interceptions, and one fumble recovery.
