Wayne, N.J. (11/12/08) - Junior Jenna Godwin (Kingwood, N.J.) recorded two goals as #5 Kean University defeated #4 William Paterson University, 2-0, in ECAC Metro Tournament action Wednesday afternoon. With the win the Cougars (12-7) advance to the semifinals which will be played on Saturday, November 15th. KU will await their opponent (#1 Stevens/#8 Drew), as all other matches are slated for Wednesday evening.

Godwin recorded what would be the winning goal early in the second half (56:24) as she collected a loose ball which senior Amanda Pitts (Rahway, N.J.) just fired off the post. Kean added an insurance goal at 77:02 as Godwin and Pitts reconnected again.

Keeper Leandra Russo (Galloway, N.J.) stopped six shots for her fifth shutout of the season.

The Pioneers (10-7-1) held a slight edge in shots (12-11), while holding a commanding 7-0 advantage in corner opportunities.
