Earth Science Club (ESC) is a funded organization that is open to all majors. The club helps provide an understanding of earth science and its phenomena, not just to earth science majors. This organization is open to any students interested in learning about anything in the earth science field.

The Outdoor Adventure and Recreation (OAR) Club at Kean University is a non-funded student organization that plans outdoor events, as well as indoor activities, for students who do not have the time to create these ideas themselves.

Whether a freshman on campus for the first time or a senior on Cougar Walk for the last time, there is an overpowering desire to find like-minded people at a university swarming with students. Most clubs and organizations on campus can vouch that that desire is the reason they came into existence. After all, it is nice for a student to gather with people who understand him or her.

How big of an achievement can one accomplish during their first week of college? Jesse Larkin, a freshman on the Kean University women's volleyball team, received the first New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) rookie of the week award for the 2016 season. Not only was it her first time playing for Kean University, but she also helped the team win 5-0 during Kean University's opening weekend.

The Writing Center at Kean University has a staff of graduate and undergraduate students that provide one-on-one coaching in a non-judgmental environment to members of the campus community. The Writing Center is located in room 111-E of the Maxine and Jack Lane Center for Academic Success (CAS), and is open during the Spring, Summer I, Summer II and Fall semesters.
