Every November, as a part of Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, the Center for Leadership and Service (CLS) hosts events called Food for Thought designed to give students an opportunity to learn and serve people in the community with food insecurity. Two of these events took place during Homelessness Awareness Week on Nov. 14 and Nov. 16.

On Monday, Nov. 26, the Center for Leadership and Service (CLS) will be hosting a service trip to the Menlo Park Veterans Memorial Home in Edison, New Jersey. From 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., students will be providing essential companionship to veterans.
The Latin American Student Organization (LASO), formerly known as the Association of the Latin American Students (ALAS), is making its way through Kean University. The Center for Leadership and Service (CLS) creates service trips to assist in the efforts of the Habitat for Humanity organization by building homes for people who struggle with homelessness.
During a holiday season which encourages sitting together for a meal with loved ones, some people are not able to have this luxury. On Tuesday, Nov. 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Student Organization at Kean University hosted the Food Bank Luncheon at the Cougar's Den in the Miron Student Center (MSC).
