Looking to the Future

A Day for All Ages

Getting Ready for Registration

Registering for courses can be a very daunting and stressful task. To help alleviate students' worries, the Office of Student Success and Retention is hosting Advisement Weeks, which will be held from Oct. 7 to Oct. 17. This will include various workshops and programming to ensure that students are on the right path for their major and know the services that Kean offers that can help them succeed.

Student Organization Is Taking You Places!

Student Organization of Kean University (Student Org), the full-time undergraduate student government at Kean, has released their Fall 2019 bus trip calendar. Whether you like history, hockey, Broadway shows or paintballing, Student Org has a trip for you this semester. Kean student tickets for the bus trips range in price from $15 to $25, offering students the opportunity to experience these trips at the fraction of the cost. Most trips also allow Kean students to being non-Kean student guests, but for $10 more than the student price.

One Healthy Week

Monday, Sept. 30 to Friday, Oct. 4 was Health and Wellness Week at Kean University. During this week-long program, the Kean campus was treated to different events and activities that promoted mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health and provided everyone with knowledge of the resources Kean has to offer on and off campus. This all led up to the Health and Wellness Fair on Thursday, Oct. 3, which ran from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Downs Hall.

Bridging Students and Scholars

Kean University is known to be a very diverse college, especially with the university having a campus located in Wenzhou, China. As a result, many students from China are able to come to the main campus in Union to study abroad all while learning about American culture and experiencing a completely new environment. A new student group on campus, the Chinese Student and Scholars Association of Kean University (KUCSSA) is dedicated to creating a community including American and Chinese students, that is not just limited to the Wenzhou-Kean exchange students.

Climbing Higher at Homecoming

Juan Leon-Torres Unites Physical and Mental Health

If there's one thing senior exercise science major, Juan Leon-Torres believes in it is that physical and mental health go hand and hand. He believes this so strongly, that he has begun to implement an Exercise and Wellness Program to help other student veterans like himself as well as to the Kean student body as a whole to come together and exercise more.

On the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 25, people gathered in the lobby of the Human Rights Institute (HRI) for the opening reception of it's newest exhibit "Tragedy & Tribute: Art Illuminates Ireland's Great Hunger." The event ran from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and created a space for people to focus on this historical event and make connections to the world today.

Preparing to Apply for Graduation

Human Rights Institute Opens Exhibit On Ireland's Great Hunger

This upcoming Sept. 25, the Human Rights Institute (HRI), located in the Nancy Thompson Library Learning Commons, is holding their Opening Reception for the gallery that will call the HRI home for the fall semester. The gallery is called "Tragedy & Tribute: Art Illuminates Ireland's Great Hunger." The Ireland's Great Hunger Museum at Quinnipiac University is loaning the exhibit to the HRI until December.
