Well, students are in luck because the Miron Student Center (MSC) is getting a Recreation Complex. A space for students to go burn off some steam after a long day or to get active on their off days/weekends.

On behalf of the School of General Studies, the Office of Counseling, Accessibility, Alcohol and Other Drug Services held an online event for students on April 26 to learn healthy strategies to manage their stress. During this 40 minute event students received information on how to distress with the end of the semester approaching.

During the week of April 12, Student Organization of Kean University, Center for Leadership and Service along with the Graduate & Part-time Student Council came together to host Unity Week Kickoff: Culturefest, an event which celebrates the diversity prevalent in the Kean community. The celebration took place inside the MSC Atrium.

Kean Theatre Conservatory, under the direction of Professor Holly Logue, presented the divine musical comedy, Sister Act to a virtual audience with performances held April 16-18. Tickets for this fun-filled event were done via ShowTix4U – Free Online Ticketing with links emailed to guests followed by a Q&A utilizing a zoom link to chat with the cast up close and personal after all performances.

On Thursday, April 15, Kean Galleries held on an online event on Protest Art Exhibit in Memory of George Floyd as a part of Kean University's Unity Week. Curator and Moderator, Jacquelyn Tuerk-Stonberg Ph.D., welcomes students and staff to join the conversation with artists as they discuss the stories behind their art.

The Leadership Institute Silver level team The Sterlings, presented an informative forum Friday, April 9 via Zoom to raise awareness and help others understand the complexities of chronic illness. Group members Alexandra Calpo, Chris Sclafani, Morgan LePore and Javonica Latimore integrated topics related to congenital heart disease, asthma, cystic fibrosis and Alzheimer’s disease.

Student Health Services (SHS) and Kean University Peer Educators hosted a two-day event consisting of a movie-screening and a discussion panel about the film "Roll Red Roll". This movie was used to educate students on the importance of sexual assault. In these events, students could see the effects of sexual abuse and how to prevent this situation on campus.

On Tuesday, March 16, eight people were killed in shootings at three Atlanta, Georgia spas. Seven of the eight victims targeted were women of Asian descent. On Monday, March 29, an open forum took place on Zoom with Kean University to discuss the issue and the need for reform.

Plays by People in affiliation with Premiere Stages at Kean University presented its virtual performances via Zoom on Saturday, March 27 at 4 p.m. After registering to sign up, audience members were sent Zoom links to take part in the event. The event was held possible by the New Jersey Theater Alliance 2021 Stages Festival.
