On Friday, Feb. 1 Kean University will be honoring the American Heart Association and its cause for heart disease awareness with Go Red for Women: Wear Red Day. This day will help to raise funds and awareness of heart disease and overall cardiovascular health, specifically in women.

The intention of this event is to encourage students to get tested for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) to ensure that the students of Kean University are healthy and safe. For the first time, the Greek Senate will be hosting a Kean Dance Marathon (KDM) Winter Wonderland Gala. This event, taking place Thursday, Nov. 29 from 7 to 10:30 p.m. in the STEM building’s Donald R. Conklin Conference Center, is set to provide additional funds to the annual KDM project while simultaneously allowing students to experience an elegant night of fun.

In the face of holiday excitement and cheer, the Center for Leadership and Service (CLS) on behalf of the University, humbled the Kean community by bringing attention to the millions of homeless people through their Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week.

President Dawood Farahi has pledged to award any first semester Kean student who came in with a freshman merit scholarship and earns a 4.0 GPA. This award will take the form of a $100 gift card to Ursino Steakhouse and Tavern, located in the STEM building.

On Tuesday, Nov. 27 in the STEM Building, the Holocaust Resource Center will host a new lecture in the Murray Pantier Memorial Scholar Lecture Series discussing French Jewish history. "Who Owns French Jewish History? The Strange Story of Zosa Szajkowski, Archive Salvager, Historian and Thief" is a presentation by Professor Lisa Moses Leff, author and acting director of academic affairs and senior vice provost at American University.
