Kickoff Before the Kickoff: The 2017 Kean Dance Marathon Hype Day!

Students and faculty filled room 228 of the Miron Student Center (MSC) to fundraise and raise awareness for the upcoming Kean Dance Marathon (KDM) in April, as the Kean Dance Marathon Hype Day commenced on Monday, Oct. 23, 2017. From noon to 8 p.m., multiple student organizations hosted tables and games for incoming students to donate to the good cause of the Children's Specialized Hospital of New Jersey, the primary sponsor for Kean University's annual dance festival.

Making A Difference In The Past Month

Every year, Kean University does its absolute best to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness month. During the month of October, student groups and the Kean community have come together to create events and activities to get students and faculty to reach a goal of $5,000. As the month comes to an end, the Kean community can look back and see the many things they did to raise awareness and money to be donated to the American Cancer Society.

The Latin Sorority of Lambda Theta Alpha hosted "PULSE", an hour-long presentation designed to give a new perspective to its attendees about the LGBTQ+ community and its importance, at the Miron Student Center (MSC) Wednesday, Oct. 11, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The students who came to this presentation were given various facts and information via a well-detailed slideshow presented by Jeislynn Ozuna, a junior majoring in biology and the active social chairperson for the sorority.

Scouting The Unknown With Ryan Sallans

A Timeless Homecoming Concert!

Hundreds of students filled Wilkins Theater Oct. 5, 2017, as well-known hip-hop artists A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and Don Q headlined the venue for Kean University's annual homecoming concert. Sponsored by the Student Organization of Kean University and coordinated by the Programming for Unique and Lively Student Experience (P.U.L.S.E) Organization, the yearly concert saw another fantastic turnout from 8 to 11 p.m. as concertgoers packed the stage as soon as the music began.

An Autumn Lunch Under The Moon

Wednesday, Oct. 4 is the official day of the 2017 year for the Mid-Autumn Festival, a holiday that is celebrated widely in East Asia. Also known as the Moon Festival, people from different parts of Asia come together with their family and friends to celebrate this day of harvest. In order to integrate this traditional holiday with Kean University students, Wenzhou-Kean University Student Association (WKUSA) hosted a Mid-Autumn Festival luncheon at the Miron Student Center (MSC) room 228.

The Battle Continues: Week Two Of The Involvement Games Commences!

After an exhilarating first week of action, the Involvement Games have become compelling events to watch. From student organizations such as Men of Excellence and the African Student Association, to some of the campus's fraternities and sororities, such as Tau Kappa Epsilon and Nu Theta Chi, the past week saw each organization compete in various challenges and activities to gain points toward the grand prize of $500 to their respective organizations.
