Few moments are as nerve-wracking as addressing an issue with a college professor. Palms are sweaty, knees are weak, heart is racing; It is a wonder the words even come out right. There comes a time in every student's life when they must confront a professor. Doing so can be scary, but staying calm, being polite, and understanding are the keys to a successful meeting, realizing there is no need for fear. That being said, it still does not hurt to know what one should definitely NOT say to a professor.

They honor everyone who donates, appreciating even the smallest of food donations, every little bit helps.

History has marked the Battle of Gettysburg as one of the turning points in the Civil War. The battle was the bloodiest of the war as over 45,000 brave soldiers lost their lives. The battle was so significant that it inspired President Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address at the dedication ceremony.

Painted pumpkins, carved pumpkins, and even pumpkins decorated in costumes are displayed within the windows and on the porches of every neighborhood. At Kean University, Homecoming is a time where the student body celebrates school spirit. This year, students showed off their Kean pride by constructing displays in different areas of the Harwood Arena parking lot. This year's theme helped Kean University celebrate a "Blue Harvest." The familiar blue of Kean University was displayed all throughout the grounds. Students embraced the fall harvest by decorating pumpkins, leaves, and other fall decorations.

The Greek Senate of Kean University promotes personal development and possesses a range of opportunities for students on and off campus. On Sunday, October 27, 2013 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. the Greek Senate of Kean University will be holding Light the Night. The walk will be around the grounds of Kean University. The walk will be illuminated with light up balloons, glow sticks, and there will be giveaways from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Cancer Society. The night will take place outside of Downs Hall and music and activities will be provided for all that attend.

Last year in the month of October, Hurricane Sandy ripped through the east coast with her wicked wrath. She caused millions of dollars worth of damage and still, a year later, there is still much to be done. To help lighten the burden, the center for leadership and service is holding a disaster relief trip to Union Beach, New Jersey on Tuesday, October 29, 2013.

In recent years, with the advancements in technology and the high speed of spreading information, the world has become more connected than ever. The transferring of information has had huge benefits for society, but with all of this sharing; the powers that be feel the need to censor. Here in the United States, censorship is not nearly as strict as it is in other countries. Countries like that of Cuba have some of the most intense censorship laws in the entire western hemisphere. Their censorship of newspapers, music, television, books, and especially the internet have earned Cuba the lowest ranking when it comes to freedom of press.

With all of the talk about the effects of breast cancer, some may wonder how one can stay healthy and lower their risk. Currently, there is no cure for cancer so the next step would be to beat it before it happens. Although doctors continue to work towards a cure, they have discovered that certain foods can actually help prevent breast cancer. One of those doctors is Dr. Oz.

Although men may feel safe from a breast cancer diagnosis, the harsh reality is that one in every 1000 men will develop breast cancer each year.
