Jenna Patrone in a League of Her Own

As a crucial member of the field hockey team, Jenna Patrone had a very successful season this fall, ending the season with 28 points, 98 shots, seven saves and 12 goals, which included six game-winning goals. Her exceptional performance during the week of Oct. 29 earned her the title of New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Player of the Week. Moreover, Patrone was accepted into the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III South Atlantic All-Region first team as well as the NHFCA Division III All-American third team.

Showcasing Latin Culture

The Latin American Student Organization (LASO), formerly known as the Association of the Latin American Students (ALAS), is making its way through Kean University. Just like many other cultural clubs on campus, LASO seeks to provide awareness and knowledge of the Latin culture to the students willing to learn.

Giving Shelter

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit housing organization whose goal is to provide every person with a decent living space. The Center for Leadership and Service (CLS) creates service trips to assist in the efforts of the Habitat for Humanity organization by building homes for people who struggle with homelessness.

Catherine Lenahan Becomes Dean for a Day

The College of Liberal Arts' second annual Dean for a Day took place Thursday, Nov. 1. This year’s selection was Catherine Lenahan who took on Acting Dean Jonathan Mercantini’s responsibilities for a day while Mercantini attended her classes as a student.

Lend A Helping Hand

Helping Younger Hands is a new organization at Kean University that is centered around raising awareness and educating students on disabilities, disorders and abuse, especially as they pertain to children. From Tutor to Leader: Michelle Saavedra

Kean University is an institution that allows students to become leaders and to provide help to their fellow peers as well. One of the clubs that does exactly that is the Tutors Club of which Michelle Saavedra is the president. Michelle Saavedra, a senior studying cell and molecular biology is adamant about providing resources for students who want to succeed academically.

Stock Up on Investment Experience

The Global Markets Trading Center (GMTC) is one of Kean’s lesser known tools, but one of the most immersive experiences offered at the school. Run by certain faculty and staff throughout the School of Accounting and Finance, the GMTC simulates real-time stock trade and allows students to manage their own investment portfolios.

History in Kean's Backyard

Built in 1772, Liberty Hall Museum is a national historic landmark located here at Kean University. It is situated adjacent to the New Jersey Center for Science, Technology and Mathematics (STEM) building on the Union Campus. Originally a 14-room Georgian style house, it has transformed into a 50-room Victorian style mansion.
