The Women's and Gender Studies Minor Program at Kean University is an exciting and enriching opportunity for students from a variety of majors and professional fields to add to their program evaluation. Adding a minor in Women's and Gender Studies is a way to develop skills in critical thinking, problem solving, analytics and a gendered-oriented perspective to a multitude of tasks and discussions.

Want to learn how to fly a drone? Kean Skylands will be hosting an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Training from Tuesday, March 16 to Thursday, March 18 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. This event will be in-person and all appropriate safety measures will be taken to ensure the safety of all participants.

For the fourth week in a row, the Graduate and Part-Time Student Council and Student Organization hosted a live virtual tour with Kean University on Wednesday, Feb. 24. This time, attendees got to watch a Q&A with comedian and actress, Melissa Villaseñor from Saturday Night Live (SNL). Attendees were asked to preregister through Loopedlive.com and once registration was confirmed, the event could be watched through a web browser or the Looped app.

Debuting in her first college basketball game, freshman Sarah Weber walked into the gym at New Jersey City University (NJCU). The evening before Kean women's basketball team had taken on NJCU on their home turf, unfortunately suffering a loss. This time though, Weber has her chance to show what she could do.

On Feb. 26, Kean’s Nancy Thompson Library Learning Commons (NTLC) held an Allied Health Digital Library Resources Webinar. Kean students were exposed to the many databases on the NTLC website that can help them find health and medical information. The goal of this workshop was to guide students into access to evidence-based healthcare information.

Gourmet Dining has been a loyal provider at Kean University and an integral part in providing fine-dining options all throughout campus. Along with well-known establishments such as Starbucks and Jersey Mikes, Gourmet Dining gives students meal plans to suit everyone’s campus lifestyle. Now, Gourmet Dining has teamed up with the Cougar Pantry to aid food-insecure students during these tough times.

The Genetic Counseling Student Interest Group exists at Kean to educate students on the field of genetic counseling. They aim to do this through resources for students as well as a community of peers that they have created. By joining this group, students can learn more about genetics, medicine, psychology and advocacy.

The Kean Forensic Science Club was established on campus for students to have the opportunity to explore this subject on a deeper level. Forensic science is commonly seen across the media and in movies. Students can learn the reality of this topic and even develop a passion for it.
