Student Organization has a wide variety of events planned for the rest of the semester to get students more involved and connected with one another. From hands on activities to watching live webinars through Zoom or Google Hangouts Meet or simply watching a movie through Netflix Party, Student Organization aims to deliver an interactive experience so students have something to look forward to instead of worrying about the online course load from their classes.

On Tuesday, Feb. 25, a team of current and former Kean University students and faculty were nominated for The 63rd Annual New York Emmy Awards. Their innovative short film, "Liberty Hall 360: Revolutionary Wedding," recreates events of colonial Elizabethtown in interactive VR at the Liberty Hall Museum.

It's election time! Student Government elections for the 2020-2021 academic year are officially underway. This year's elections will take place from Monday, April 13, at 9 a.m. to Thursday, April 16, at 2 p.m. for both Student Organization and the Graduate and Part-Time Student Council on Cougar Link.

On Monday, March 9, Kean University recently received one of the largest donations from Professor Emerita Dorothy Grant Hennings, Ed.D.' H10. The gift will help fund a scholarship which will be named in honor of her late husband and biology Professor Emeritus George Hennings, Ed.D.' H10 to support students that are studying in the science and science education fields. The contribution will also include the Centennial Fund Opportunity Scholarship which is open to high achieving, low income students from all majors.

The Kean University Board of Trustees is currently looking for the next Alternate, Non-voting, Student Trustee. Students at Kean University may now begin sending in applications to fill the position. March serves as Women's History Month, and within that month is the iconic, International Women's Day, taking place Sunday, March 8. To honor and celebrate this month of remembering the cultural impact women have made, many groups within the Kean community have prepared events designed to acknowledge the contributions women have made in history, and to empower the women of today to shatter the societal expectations placed on them.
